Town Hall Meeting
We will hold a Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, May 14 at 7pm. This is a chance to come out and hear what’s been happening at Life Branch Church and ask questions.
Last year, Lis Jackson, our former Food Bank coordinator, shared about significant changes that will affect all food banks in Nova Scotia through Feed NS. We’ve now reached a key decision point on how these changes may impact Life Branch Church. Please join us for this important Town Hall as we share updates and prayerfully consider the future of our community outreach.

Lunch & Learn
Join us on Thursday, May 29 at 12:00 PM for our next Senior’s Lunch & Learn. Our special guest, Judith Cabritia from Friends of the Public Gardens, will be sharing the rich history and beauty of the Halifax Public Gardens.
Enjoy a relaxing lunch and an informative talk about one of Halifax’s most treasured landmarks. All are welcome!

Family Movie Night
Join us for Family Movie Night this Friday May 9 at 6:00pm. We'll now be showing The Wild Robot. This animated adventure tells the story of Roz, a robot who unexpectedly wakes up on a remote island and must learn to survive and connect with the animals around her. It’s a touching tale of friendship, adaptation, and what it means to belong. Watch the movie trailer here.
Admission is free, and snacks will be available for purchase. Bring the whole family for an evening of fun!

Ladies Breakfast
The Ladies' Breakfast! Saturday, May 3 at 9:00 am. Mark your calendar and be sure to register at the Welcome Center or contact the office 902-466-2475.
Full breakfast, cost $10. Money will be collected at the door.

Lunch & Learn
Join us for our next Senior’s Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM. Our guest speaker, Nicole Marchand of Eat Well Nova Scotia, will share practical tips and insights on healthy eating for seniors.
Come enjoy a delicious lunch and an engaging session focused on wellness and nutrition. All are welcome!

Life Shared Workshop

Resurrection Sunday Breakfast
The Pancake Breakfast is on at 8am on Sunday April 20 in the atrium. Come join in the fellowship of having a meal together and preparing for the celebration of Resurrection Sunday! A recommended donation of $5 will help with the food costs!

Easter Sunrise Service
We will have our Sunrise Service on April 20 at 7:15am at Albro Lake Beach Park (1 Sea King Drive), just around the corner from the church. This short service is a wonderful way to start Resurrection Sunday If the weather is bad we will have it in the atrium at the church.

Good Friday Service
Good Friday is a day of sharp contrasts that emphasizes the significant difference between earthly perspectives and Divine purpose.
These contrasts enhance the significance of Good Friday, revealing the sorrow of human sin alongside the victory of divine love. The paradox lies in the fact that through the immense love of the Trinity, the grave ultimately leads to eternal life.

Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Zoom Service
We will have a Tenebrae Zoom service on Thursday April 17 at 6:30pm. Once we have a Zoom link we will post it on this page.

Lenten Thursday
Please join us for our final Lenten Thursday service of the year. These have been special times for our congregation to reflect on "Living by Faith" this Lenten season. You are invited to bring a bag lunch at noon, and have a brief time of fellowship while we eat our lunch together. At 12:30 we will go into the sanctuary for a time of music, hearing from God's word and a short meditation.

Prayer Retreat
We will be hosting a Prayer Retreat on Saturday April 12 from 9am-12:30pm. The Prayer Retreat is an opportunity to encounter God individually and as the church. We will have a time of worship, group prayer, individual prayer
We will start with worship, and then send you off for a private time of engaging with God in a Scripture exercise called Lectio Divina. Mid morning there will be a coffee break, followed by prayer in groups for personal, church and world concerns.We will also offer to pray with individuals, listening to God for them and praying a blessing. Finally, we will reflect together on the experience before we head home.
The morning fies by! You will leave 'lifted'. James 4:8 says:
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
The time has been variously listed as 9 or 9:30. Saturday April 12th. Let's say 9 am till 12:30pm

Family Movie Night
We will have our Family Movie Night a week early this month. You're invited to a special Family Movie Night on Friday, April 11 at 6:00 PM! We’ll be showing The Prince of Egypt, a beautifully animated film that tells the epic story of Moses—his journey from prince of Egypt to leader of the Israelites. It's a powerful story of faith, freedom, and courage, perfect for all ages.
Admission is free, and snacks will be available for cash purchase. Come enjoy a meaningful and fun evening with your family and community!

Lego Block Party
We will be having a Lego Block Party on Saturday April 5 from 2-5pm. This is a great event for all ages who enjoy LEGO. There will be bins of LEGO to build, face painting, snacks, a movie, and more.
Registration is required, it is $10 per child, which can be payable by e-transfer to donate@lifebranch.ca or by dropping money off to Mary at the office. The fun and snacks are all included in the registration. Details and registration form are available here.

The Chosen Special Screening
As part of our Lenten Experience, we invite you to join us for a screening of Season 4, Episode 8 of The Chosen which depicts Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, marking what we celebrate as Palm Sunday. This pivotal moment highlights how Jesus defies the expectations of a traditional Messiah, choosing to arrive humbly on a donkey rather than a powerful war horse, embodying the gentle spirit of a lamb instead of the fierce image of a lion.

We invite you our third Lenten Thursday on Thursday at 12pm. Bring a bag lunch and eat lunch with us in the atrium. Tea and coffee will be provided. Following we will have a short time of worship in the Sanctuary. This 40 day experience of reflection just prior to the passion experience heading to Easter Sunday, is an amazing opportunity for enhancing our spiritual lives.
The scripture this week will be Romans 1:18-32. The meditation "Who of Us Is Without Sin?" will be brought to us by Rev. Bill MacDougall. We will look forward to seeing you there!

Christmas Morning Gathering
"What have you been 'Awakened' to this Christmas?
Everyone is welcome to join us at 10:30am Christmas morning for a time of singing, prayer, and testimony around this question "What have you been 'Awakened' to this Christmas?"
Whether you stay at home on Christmas morning, gather with us, or travel to visit family and friends, we pray that the story of Christ's birth will awaken in you the true Hope, Peace, Joy and Love that comes with the Good News of Immanuel, God with Us.

Christmas Eve Service
We invite you to pause from your busy schedule and join us for a service that celebrates the true spirit of Christmas - Jesus the Messiah. Trunk or Treat
The Trunk or Treat is back for another year! Come out on Saturday October 26 from 2-4 for games, snacks, and a BBQ. This is fun for the whole family. Kids can dress up and travel around to the “trunks” for treats. There will be games to play and a BBQ.

Intro to Mac
Curious about using a Mac or considering one for your next computer? Life Branch is offering a free, 4-week beginner class this fall to help you get comfortable with Macs. Whether you bring your own device or use one of the 5 we have, join us this Saturday from 10-11 AM. Let us know if you’d like to attend!

Town Hall Meeting
We have a Town Hall meeting coming up on Wednesday October 23, at 7:00pm. We will have a financial update by Doug Sabean as well as our regular open Q&A. These events are a great way to stay updated on what's happening at Life Branch Church and ask any questions you may have. They are a casual event and are quite a bit of fun. If you haven't made it out to a town hall meeting previously, you're encouraged and invited to come out!

Souper Sunday
This Sunday October 20 is Souper Sunday, we will be having a soup lunch following the worship service. Stick around to enjoy a bowl of delicious soup and fellowship. There is a suggested donation of $5 to help us cover food costs. See you on Sunday!

Men's Supper
All ages welcome, Good Food, Great Fellowship! Feel free to invite a guest! The evening will include preparing and sharing a meal, no cooking experience required. Freewill offering to cover the cost of food. Please RSVP online at the button below.

Classic Worship
Classic Worship is an hour long hymn sing that happens the second Sunday evening of the month. We gather together to sing hymns and hear reflections on the songs and scriptures. Come out at 6:30pm to join in!

Family Movie Night
Our next Family Movie Night is coming up on Friday October 11. We will be watching Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse. Admission is free and we'll have snacks available for cash purchase. Come on out and bring friends!
