Blue Christmas
Come join us Sunday evening, December 7 at 6:30pm as we journey together through remembrance to hope. All are welcome.
The Christmas season can be beautiful, but for many it also brings moments of loneliness, sadness, or the ache of loss. While everything around us seems to say we should be joyful, our hearts may be carrying something very different.
Henri Nouwen often reminds us that God meets us not in our pretend strength, but in our honest weakness — in the quiet places where we feel vulnerable, tired, or unsure. He wrote that it is often in our “inner room of stillness” where we discover that we are deeply loved by God, not because we feel joyful, but because we belong to Him.
In this gentle Blue Christmas service, we offer space for what is real. Space to breathe. Space to grieve. Space to remember. Space to rest in the truth that God’s presence does not avoid our sorrow — He sits with us in it. And it is often from this silence that the first notes of hope begin to rise again.
Through simple songs, Scripture, and quiet reflection, we will listen for the God who is close to the brokenhearted, who holds our tears, and who slowly leads us from silence toward song.
